Leno is funnier than Conan by miles, Conan is an oddball that oddballs like because they feel they can relate to him being an oddball like them. Not to say that he doesn't have his moments, but overall he's not a funny person.

Leno is terrible on his show. He used to be awesome when he did stand-up and even when he guest-hosted Carson, but those days are long gone now. :(

Craig is definitely the funniest nowadays. His interviews of Shirley Manson and Kristen Bell (who seems to want him soooo bad) are epic.

I love Craig. His interview with Carey Mulligan last night was awesome. :awe:

I caught the beginning of Conan last night. It was great.

Leno needs to say goodbye.

NBC will dump Conan since he doesn't want to go along with their plans of moving him to 12:05 so Leno can be back at 11:35. But, I suspect he's just playing hardball to see if NBC will actually believe him about threatening to leave if Leno comes back.

Leno = higher ratings, the only reason Conan got the spot was because they were contractually obligated. His ratings suck and he's killing the time slot. If Conan is serious about not moving to 12:05, NBC will give him the boot. They're not going to put him over Leno. Leno's much more popular and gets better ratings. We can all sit here and argue all day about who's funnier blah blah blah. But ratings you can't argue, Leno spanked Lettermans ass for 14 years by a huge margin. Conan never will be able to do that.

Who would a network rather lose a quirky geek who appeals to a small number of people, or a guy who consistently pulled in millions of viewers. NBC only cares about ratings so Leno will be back, mark my words.

For proof of this, catch the 10 at 10 segment on his show. He reads celebs random questions off of cards to a TV monitor, and he can't improv worth a crap. I'm at home making better comments then he does at the answers. Jay is a rehersed comedian- he needs it written down and formed before he can deliver it. Conan is an improv master. He makes comedy out of anything (a lot like the What's My Line people do).

Hasn't Leno killed his time slot and the news after it? If he's so popular why aren't people watching? Just wondering why people ignore this while slamming Conan.

As someone pointed out in either another thread or on another site, for the vast majority of the time that Leno was king of Late Night TV, NBC was the dominant Prime Time TV station. Just think about some of the 10 o'clock line ups of NBC back in the day. Remember how incredibly popular ER was?

The last 3-4 years CBS has taken over with their never ending string of popular crime shows in the 10 spot. Leno's popularity waned during this period and when he left the hardcore Leno fans no longer had a reason to change the channel from CBS.

Leno got good ratings because of 10pm drama 11pm news lead in too. Now Leno is screwing up 10pm ratings, which screws 11pm news, which then screws Conan. Leno is not funny anymore, younger demographic that advertisers seek to target watches Conan, who is more edgy. Leno needs to do a car show.

Improv master? lol Conan is a goofball, I don't think anyone I know finds him funny. If spazzing out for no apparent reason makes one an improv master, than yeah, I guess Conan is one of the greatest ever. You say he makes comedy out of anything, if that's true why have I never laughed at anything he did? I'm sorry but shit like pretending your desk is a car and you're driving, randomly talking about shit on a blue screen. That shit just isn't funny at all. I watched his show a bunch of times and most of his "comedy" was very painful to watch. And that sadly the desk/car thing was one of the better bits Conan would do.

Conan would fail so hard on a Who's Line Is It show. Wayne Brady is about a million times better at it than Conan, and Wayne isn't someone I'd consider to be great at it.

I like how you observe something, make up your own facts, and then treat them like "everyone should know this."

1) Leno had terrible ratings for the first several years of his show. Letterman was beating him about 2:1. Then the Hugh Grant incident happened, and people saw Jay in a different light.
2) Strong 10pm leadins helped support this upturn, making Jay #1.
3) If Leno's show could stand on it's own, why did it not work at 10pm when he was doing basically the same TTS material?
4) Your "mark my words" prediction has pretty much been in the headlines for the last week. You're a little late.

I'm thinking Leno is going to tank again when he gets the show back. Once people leave it's hard to get them back (People are on a Letterman kick now). Conan's humor is more modern than the older people that watch late night TV can understand. He makes fun of Twitter and Facebook, he has modern bands on, he does material on pop culture. Seniors are sitting in bed says "What's the heck is he talking about???"

If anything, I forsee Conan getting a new show and all this hoopla and wrong-doing giving him a big popularity boost.

Yes, I stand corrected. Because YOU don't find him funny, and nobody you know finds him funny (which consists of 2 guys and 16 Facebook contacts), nobody has any right to like him.

Thank you for clearing that up.

I was going to have sausage and mushroom pizza for dinner. Do you like that? I need to know if it's OK to eat that or not.

PS- Also, the fact you're mentioning that car desk thing (something he hasn't done in like 8 years) shows you haven't seen the show lately and are basing your criticisms on assumptions.

Am I the only one who doesn't mind either Conan or Leno? I liked the old setup better though, Conan was free to be a little more wacky in his old slot, and that suits him well. And Leno definitely had his moments as well.

One thing I think everyone agrees with : Fallon is simply terrible. It's a shame, he seems like a really nice guy, but his show is about the worst thing I've ever seen, I'd rather watch random spanish TV that I don't understand at all, at least you get some gratuitous T&A on those shows.

Conan should bring back his bit where they do photoshops of "If they [celebrities] had a baby."

Few people have the ability you've just shown to break down the complexities of life into its simplest form.
