Saw this all over facebook. Apparently the internet is trying to throw its weight around again. Well I guess we did get more Sam Jackson lines in Snakes on a Plane and we did get Rage to be the number one xmas single in the UK. Why not try to save Conan?

I don't care for all 3 of them (Leno,Leterman,Conan) but of the 3 Leno is by far the wrost IMHO. He's bland as bleached white bread. Wish they'd risk putting someone with some truly edge comedy in there. Course anyone really funny would be banned by the FCC before their first show was over.

Sorry, but even if you don't like Conan, saying Leno is funnier just shows you don't have a clue what you're talking about. Even Leno knows he's not funny, which is why he gave up the Tonight Show to Conan. Notice, Leno doesn't want the show back, he just wants the time slot. Even Leno knows Conan>Leno.

Which is ironic because Leno sells out STAND UP comedy shows in Vegas on a regular basis. Conan, well... he doesn't actually do stand up. Get back to us when Conan has sold out a hundredth of the Vegas shows Leno has. People must think he's funny in order to spend money to go watch him perform his stand up comedy in Vegas right?

Conan is great for sketch comedy. different style sure, but Leno is dick for a writer. Leno is much, much better at stand-up.

Very different styles, both kinda suck at the 11:30 slot, but Conan was ar better at 12:30 than Leno was at 11:30.

I can see how Leno has some funny in him, from time to time, but he just isn't as sharp or as interesting as Conan.

Yeah, and Leno had great ratings, that doesn't make him funny. Hell, Carlos Mencia and Dane Cook also sell out stand-up crowds. I think you're onto some great logic there.

If Leno didn't want to lose the Tonight Show, he had plenty of time to do something about it. The fact that he'd let NBC write that contract in the first place shows he was okay with it.

Conan is more "out there". The type of person who watches Conan is less likely to watch TV, and hence is not as good for advertisers. This is the same group of people who are less likely to vote, etc.

So ignoring personal opinion about who is better than who, Leno is better for ratings and the advertisers because he appeals to a crowd who would actually watch him night in and night out. Conan's crowd is more in and out with higher variance, so that explains his loss in the ratings to Letterman.
