I read the whole thing, I will admit that your situation isn't the most ideal by any means but I still think you can change things. You need to realize that they are not required to do as much as you believe. You were not legally required to work for their restaraunt and so you could have left and gotten a job somewhere else if you wanted, this is the money you could use for a car. Your other big issue of schooling, well, you should hopefully be in a situation now to get a loan for education.

I think you were looking for issues with your parents rather than finding ways around it.

believe it or not, I went through the whole "immigrant parents who had me work my ass off in their store (convenient store, I am indian) and screwed my head a little" scenario.

However I am older now and though I missed a lot of opportunities from always having to work, I am older now and not angry anymore at them.

Hell, I didn't even mention prom to my parents... they would have ****** a brick if I even looked at a girl, much less openly date her.

You still have options man... if you can't stand your father, plead help from other family members... work your fricken ass off at any decent job, hell get TWO jobs. Claim that you are independent and try another shot at college funding. I got pell grants and other stuff just for being independent. My parents were always late on their taxes too, which hurt me until I declared independent on my official status as a student.
