I'm Very Disapointed With Baseball Fans (Memorable Moments)

Ripken 1??? NO way. What about Fisk's homerun, May's catch, Larson's perfect game and the biggest jip of all, Bobby Thompson's Home Run (The Shot Heard Round the World)

Give me a break.

ALSO: They should of used James Earl Jones, not Andy Garcia. Andy Garcia has the worst voice! James Earl Jones is the man, and obviously passionate about baseball from the way he acted in Field of Dreams. "Ray, the one constant through all the years has been .. basbeall"
 
I completely agree. But the fact is that people probably voted for what they remember. That moment is the freshest in the minds of most fans.

I thought it should have went:

1 Thompson's HR
2 Mays' catch
3 Fisk's HR
4 Gibson's HR

Yeah Ripkens Record shouldn't even be in the top ten. I guess most of those who voted really don't know squat about the great history of baseball.

Actually Gibson's was the most memorable for me because it was against my A's:frown:

Jackson's 3 homeruns against the Dodgers in one Series game was also a great moment..especially because it was against the Dodgers🙂

Amen to that. Especially the part about that people don't know squat. I think the VHS/DVD they are selling will still be cool though, because it will include the top 30.

 
Being young (17) i can't say I witnessed these events, so they aren't very memorable to me. The shot heard round the world seemed as good a choice as many, but the fact that a lot of that team cheated to get to that point kind of taints it for me, but doesn't take away from the moment that much. For me, the most memorable would have to be Mr. Big Mac's 62nd home run. All those camera flashes, the fact that he brought baseball back to America, he did so much for the game and that moment defines him (in good ways and bad)

i dunno what i think...i thought it was ridiculus of the giants fans...first it sounded like they were booing kirk gibson and seconds when mcguire's hr was being announced they were chanting BARRY...im sorry but mcguires is much more rememberable the barry's

i thought gerhig's speech should have been #1 or #2...

No. 1 HAD to be Jackie Robinson's rookie year. He changed the face of baseball, and for that matter the country's outlook on segregation.
 
i agree... they were all out of whack.

just my 2 cents:

Bonds 72 should of replaced McGuires 62.

Ryans 7th no hitter should of been higher on the list.

i totally disagree with that statement...mcguires was so much more memerable...no one ever thought it could be done...
 
I thought the best part was all the cheers and ovations Pete Rose recieved. Hopefully that will send a strong message to Bud and the rest of MLB to let him into the Hall of Fame, where he belongs!

unfortunately yes it is 🙁 I realized that it wasn't that big an issue when half the team publically admitted to it so many years later, and i'm still not clear on the concept of how the runner exactly gets the signs to the player or 3rd/1st base coach, but um okay yeah... i just don't like it

Did Babe Ruth apologize for being a drunk? Did the other players apologize for numerous improprieties and illegalities that they were caught for doing?

He bet on sports. Never did it come out that he bet on a game he participated in or coached. His gambling should have nothing to do with a ban from baseball!

The man played his heart out in every game he played in. He broke and challenged records that will stand for a long time coming. He is a legend of the game. He was and still is a role model for many young kids. MLB should be apologizing to him!

I disagree taht GcGiures 62 was that memerable. Yes we all remember that he hit the homerun. But Im not even sure if Id seen the actual homerun before today.
 
wtf, ripkin? ugh, i like the guy and all, but how can you ignore something like gibson's hr? now THAT's the stuff baseball is made of...
 
I don't think Ripken's record should have won either, but the fact that he played in 2, 630 games in a row IS amazing if you think about it for a second.

I agree. Next to a couple of great hockey moments, id have to say that that was the greatest and most exciting sports game i have ever watched.
