im 17 and im trying to grow a beard and i have not shaved in about 2 weeks and all i got to say is that it fvking itches. i have some notacible fuzz, but not anything remotly considering a beard. how long will it take to grow one to the thickness point of not being able to see my face? Or is it even worth me growing one? Also, what can i do to make it stop itching so damn much?

pic of me shaved

i want one that includes the bulk of my face, but once its grown, i want to keep it neat

You're not going to grow anything remotely resembling a beard, quit now before some redneck gives you a wedgie. :)

You might not be able to. A lot of mens' facial hair simply doesn't come in that thick, I'm one of them. It's apparently hereditary - my father is the same way. I'm 26, btw. Fairly common for Asian men, although I'm as white as they come.

You have blonde hair like I do....takes about 4-6 to make a decent mustache, forget about the beard. A goatee might be possible, but wouldn't try that till later. Blonde hair just naturally doesn't show up against the white skin. Check your arms and you know what I mean. It has to be THICK to really show up.

If you're like me, you'll get the surprise of having red hair mixed in the blonde, making it overall reddish (there's not another red hair on my body).

Face it (pun) some people can't grow beards until they are older.

Some people can NEVER grow a beard, at least not a beard that's worth a sh!t. ;)

Good luck though!

(I couldn't grow a half decent beard until I hit my 30's or so...)

You're not old enough to be frank. I take that back, I should say, you're just not far enough along in your "journey". You should have to shave regularly before you even try to grow a beard, otherwise it just looks dirty.

Years of shaving will make your hairs thicker and over time more hairs will come in to fill up the patchiness, but until then do not try to grow a beard, you will look like a filthy fool.

You're from Florida, it's spelled "color." And give it up, the beard isn't going to happen.

^^^. Wait till you can grow one. It might take another year or two.

Personally, I don't think you'd look better with a beard, even if you could grow one easily.

I can grow a decent beard in a week, but I don't enjoy it. (I've worn a beard or just a mustache for longer, but it never stopped feeling itchy.) If you're having that much trouble, my guess is it'll never look good and it may always feel uncomfortable. Unless you really need a beard for some reason, I'd recommend shaving it off.

When you want a beard, you won't get one.
When you don't want it, you will surely get it.

I'm 25 and I still can't grow a beard. But I have noticed that over the years my facial hair has been evening out. Unfortunately, the more hair I get on my face, the more I lose from my head.

Two weeks is enough time. I think your best best is a cheesy, uneven high-school mustache.

Im 22 and I cant grow anything. I think the longest I went was ~2 weeks and it just looked nasty. My problem is I still have a lot of blonde facial hairs (even though my hair is dark) so I get the salt & pepper effect which makes it look not full at all.

I can grow a full beard in under a week. My dad is Russian (dark skin, dark hair) and my mom is German (light skin, light hair), and I got my dad's genes. My dad and I look like airplane hijackers when we wear aviator sunglasses. :p

Beards on younger people invariably look very stupid.

That said, you're too young to grow it. If after two weeks all you have is the pubic hair look, and I can picture it now, then you need to shave and stop being a dumbass about this! Maybe in 5 years your hair will grow fast enough that you can have a beard. And then even still you shouldn't get one.

My 5 O'Clock shadow is probably more beard that you have after two weeks. A 17 year old blonde should not consider a beard...

You have to start growing pubic hair first before you can grow hair on your face. :)
