I'm trying to come up with a speech for a position at my High School

I have run for other things at my school, including treasurer, but I think this will be a little different. Unlike the others, where I was able to talk face to face during the speech, I now have to talk over the intercom. This makes it harder to get everyone's attention. The position is to be a student representative to the city school board. It's one of the lrger position available. In past years, kids just randomly write in some name and dont care about when they get the voting paper during 1st block. This is where I need help. What kins of things do you think I could say to stand out, or give myself a better chance? I plan on telling as many people as I can to get their class to vote for me, but Im not sure if it will work.

Have you ever had to write a speech like this for your Highschool? Any tips?

    Mention myspace
    Say your name
    Use words like Xbox, Federline, Blackberry, Helio
    Say your name and youtube in the same sentence
    Become Treasurer
    ...

Thats why I am using unconventional tactics, and I am going for the attention grabber speech/the cool factor speech. Everyone will have the normal, "Hi, I am so and so, and I and running for this so and so position. Please vote for me" My speech so far will get a lot of laughing. And even if they didn't hear the speeches, I still have a pretty good chance. The cool speech is just for insurance.
 
well, I came up with something that they will like. It will stand out, especially how I present it. I might post it later, but I really need sleep. And I will also post if I get it on Wednesday.
