What would it be like, how would it be to live there?,how is the economy?,,what kinds of proffessionals are they looking for?,Anybody know someone who lived there?

Well I guess I should move there too. Anyway, it can't be worse than where I live know, so what the heck... I got nothing to lose.

LOL Booster whewre u live now?

Reason I want to move there is that their society is based largely on outdoors. I've done some calculating recently on my person. I spend anywhere from 4 to 8 hours of sleep in 24hours. Let's say 6 hours, that leaves me 18 hours of day.I crawl out of bed (horizontal)at 7 am. I shower, go sit down and pound back some coffee and smokes. I'm outta my house at 8:30.in that last 1hour and 30 minutes,,I have been sitting for 1hr10mins. I get in my car for a cruise to work,(sitting),that takes 45mins. So far I been up since 7am,get to work at 9:45am. I have been sitting for almost 2hours. Now I"m at work,,take my time going through the doors. Once inside, irratate my co-workers ( in fun of course )Sit down at 10:00am..Don't get up till noon.,,Get my drift?...It's sounded so unusual when I figured it out,,matter of fact,down-rite scary. My past work experience ranges from Constuction work,,Fishing Guide ( one of the best in my area). And now I'm a computer tech. I would have smoked my monitor MANY MANY times due to total frustration from these P'C's. P.C's in general. thats about all .rambling.

You may think this is pretty funny, but the place I was born in and have to live presently is terrible. It is my only problem. I think all the time how much this place sucks and how to depart. I think I'm an OK guy in general, I just can't get out of here.

So you are going to move out of the country? I mean if that is what you really want to do then by all means go for it, but maybe you would be more happy just moving off into the country?

If you aren't Icelandic and don't speak Icelandic you probably won't feel very welcome. Iceland isn't very big on immigration. I believe it was Czar that said up until 1970 something it was legal to kill Turks in Iceland.

dparker, well I totally agree. Maybe a small mid-life crisis I'm having,,but I have always wanted to at least visit there. But, I have heard they are very into themselves so to speak?. I guess it just threw me off abit when I figured that out, venting abit to I suppose.

If you live in the US your chances of immigrating to another country are slim to none unless you have a job lined up or some other reason other than just to be outdoors as you said.

My cousin married a guy from Iceland. Iceland's population is only about 250,000. Most of the people live in the capital I do believe because the rest of the country is volcanic rock and not very hospitable. There are almost no trees. The people are very protective of their heritage. They are also very literate and many speak more than one language.

It's an interesting place but I wouldn't want to live there. Too cold for one thing. The Blue Lagoon is cool as hell, though.

Czar posted some pics a while back, and while the place is quite striking, I don't recall seeing a single piece of vegetation in any of the shots. That'd be a dealbreaker for me (and is also the reason why I don't want to move to Nevada or western Utah..)

lucky for me i have a dual citizenship (american/dutch) I can live anywhere in europe if id like but why iceland? That place doesnt really even reach my top 10 countries id wanna live in.
