Only problem is, the bride is very adamant that all the groomsman have the same color as the bridesmaid (who are wearing a bright red)

Pretty much we'll have to wear a bright red vest... I don't want to wear a red vest... so she says if I can find research that a best man can wear a different color that she'll let me have a black vest or something "less" red.

Curious if there's a scape-goat for me in all this?

Thanks! It's my first wedding where I'm actually participating so I don't want to step over any boundaries.
Just wear what she wants you too.
It's not like she's asking you to dress up in a pink tutu.

Here's to your bride in the bright red shoes...
she'll make you happy, she'll give you the blues...
She lost her cherry, but that's no sin...
She still got the box she got it in!!!

Just wear the red...

Funny. I was just best man at my friend's wedding and we had the same ensemble. Bridesmaids wore red groomsmen had red ties/vests, mine has a nice design on it to stand out as best man but the others were bright red. I thought it worked out okay, and like they say--it's her day, you do it all how she wants.

Being the best man is fun minus the toast/speech (i don't speak well in front of others) but once you're done it feels good, and you can start hooking up with all the ladies that know you're the best man. :)

It is all a requirement to have a getaway car ready for him at the wedding "just in case"

do not listen to this person.

They asked you to appear in their wedding, you accepted. This means that you wear what they tell you to.

Hmm...let me take a different track here.....

Never Mind. Wear the damn vest they tell you to wear, and shut up about it.

sheesh. you reall y have no idea who the wedding is for do you? its not about you, the bridesmaids, or even the groom. its all about her. IF you want to be part of the wedding you will wear red.

its really easy to me.

Damn man, one effing day you can shut up and suck it up and wear a red vest for a few hours.

Do the groom and bride to be mean nothing to you?

Weddings are about the two people getting married, thats their day.

and people certainly won't question or laugh at the bride in any of this. I mean... we all know how little input she has about the whole wedding thing, especially compared to the wishes of someone like "the best man".

At least there is one non-dumbass in the group. Yes i did. The fact that the OP even had to ask this question just baffles me.

I wore pink for the bride. I thought she was joking until I got fitted. 2 years later I cant remember if it was a light or dark pink, get over it.
