It amazes me the amount of stuff people are willing to overlook with this guy.

Since this has devolved into a flame-fest, I'm locking this thread.

For example?

I'd wager that people don't overlook his faults so much as they believe that both sides have about the same number of skeletons in their closets.

If the accusations against him had any depth or substance as opposed to innuendo people might be more interested.

That's because you're not very bright. He's the quintessential American success story.

Compared to the Bush terrorism and his sidekick John McSame?
First they tore up the Bill of Rights.
Then they shipped our jobs to China.
Then they virtually destroyed our economic solvency?

You could easily ask why don't people complain about a firecracker when a nuke is going off.

Wright - I don't care for guilt by association
Ayers - see Wright
Enordorsed by "terrorist states" - I don't let terrorists tell me how to vote, I ignore them.
Farakahn - see terrorists

Anything else?

You seem to be someone who is easy to fool and filled with absurd ideas and connections based on your own innate bias.

What about what you overlook with your Republican hero McCain?

What about what you've overlooked what your hero Bush has done to the country?

In that case, you are correct. We tend to overlook things without substance. The Rev. Wright thing was blown way out of proportion. We can't be responsible for the political views or statements (no matter how dumb) of everyone we associate with. That was a cheap shot. His name? WTF? He didn't pick it. Blame his parents for that one. You might as well be claiming that the size of the American Flag lapel pin you wear determines how patriotic you are. Terrorist states endorsing him? Again, show me where he has actively aided or plan to aid ANY of them.

His record? You may have something there, but again you need specifics in order to have a meaningful discussion about it.

wtf does his name have anything to do debate? do you seriously think he's muslim or something? I will say the biggest thing right now is his (and everyone elses) support for that damn bailout.

Rev. Wright - Well he has said some things that were inflammatory but let me ask you this. Do you have a friend/coworker/teacher that says things you do not agree with? I'm trying to point out that what one person says does not reflect your beliefs. If you judge people by what their friends say then I think that is far fetched and unfair.

Aryers - Obama was 8yrs old. Yeah, 8. So this doesn't hold water.

His Name - Are you fucking kidding me? His name?!?!

His Record - What about it? Which Part?

Endorsed by terrorist states and Farakahn - First, you cannot choose who supports you. Secondly, I am not sure which terrorist states you are speaking of. Thirdly, Our own Gearge Bush gave 10Billion to a terrorist state (Pakistan). I guess both sides are guilty eh?

Anti-American - Whats so anti-American about his name? This aught to be good.

EDIT: By the way, just to let you know, I don't support this numbnutz either.

Two points. First, if you ever think that somebody's name is a legitimate talking point for whether or not they should hold political office, you are an idiot. Second, you don't choose your supporters; unless Obama is specifically coming out and saying he believes the agenda of the "terrorist states" or "Farakahn" (sic), who the hell cares if they endorse him? Members of the KKK are going to vote for John McCain; should I consider that on election day? Absolutely not.

But then again, you think that someone's name is a legitimate reason to not vote for them, so I doubt it matters what anyone posts here.
