In August 2003 Mars was the closest it's ever been to earth in a long ass time. It was a big deal at the time, and naturally there was an email forward about it. I seriously don't know why this email is still around, because the people sending it obviously don't know what's going on, or care to find out. They didn't go out and look at it when it really happened, or else they would remember it from the first time, so they wouldn't go out and see it now either. Most of them probably don't know what Mars looks like or how to find it. I'd go so far as to say that the vast majority of them have never consciously seen mars at all. They just mindlessly click send because they feel the hive would want them to.
If only people would put the date, and not just "August" on these things this would never have to happen.
Am I the only one getting this still?
