this kinda started up a while ago and was mainly happening during game play
I was using beta nvidia drivers at the time but now i'm back to the WHQL ones
still same thing - installed drivers a few times - make sure it wasn't my memory with memtest - was reverifying my well verified cpu overclock and it locked again....
I have another card to test it out with but just wanted to get a general consensus of more experienced people here
I've only had ram and hdd's go out on me (one mobo kinda went out) but never any video cards
i'm fixing to go stock on my system for testing further but its not something i enjoy doing
(hells i'm gonna have another round at OC reverify first
)
no i cant send it in - its got no warranty - its an OEM card
I'm prepared to buy a new one if needed (really don't wanna...and there goes my laptop buying again for now...)
is this behavior "common" to bad cards?
*recap - lots random locks and BSOD's with driver errors - never a page fault - always blames the graphics driver - reinstalled and cleaned the drivers a few times - tried beta and whql drivers - generally happens during game play - *know* its not the memory and checking to see if something else could be the issue still - but its always the drivers during BSOD
*was having some strange artifacts occasionally* card isn't oc'd and only mod done on it is to make fan 100% all the time
is this behavior "common" to bad cards?
**edit**
and it froze just after I posted this initially - out of the house right now - reset the OC back to stock and setup 3DMark to run in a loop non stop - we'll see how it is doing when i get home...
no ones got any thoughts???
