Drinking coffee is like breathing; I just do it. I rely on hate to get through the work day.

Good, good. Let the coffee flow through you. Give in to the dark roast side...

In the last two years I went from never drinking coffee to drinking it almost every day.

False. Moderate consumption is associated with many health benefits.

I enjoy the taste of a good coffee, which would be considered an espresso in NA.

Welcome to being an adult?

In the US that is, where working 8 hour days just isn't enough.

That said OP - I would highly recommend the occasional renewal of your caffeine tolerance. Basically, go without caffeine for 2 weeks. You can quit cold turkey and get a headache day - or gradually taper off.

Either way, after resetting your tolerance you are looking at once again being wired by one 8oz cup of coffee instead of having to shotgun a big-gulp of it just to feel a twitch.

I have the same problem with soda. I'm trying to save money by cutting back.

I have one cup a day. I love coffee too, so I'm surprised that I never bother going for more after that one in the morning. I need to find the source of that self-control and apply it to other things, like bourbon. Or I could just apply the bourbon to the coffee...

Crap, this is how it starts.

I currently have seven, three lb bags of Kirkland Sumatra Beans and Rwandan Beans.
I always grab what I need for 6 months as Costco sells out of these two within a month or two ever year.
What's left for sale is just some weak Guatemalan beans or Colombian beans.

It's not as much as one would think. It's a 21 week supply. :p

Drank 2 red bulls the other night because I had reports to do on special needs kids that I taught this summer I had to gather all the data, put it together into a report and hand all of it in Tuesday morning. That took all night to do! I finished though. Good stuff.

Caffeine is a horrible habit. TBH, you really don't need it. Caffeine is actually a toxin. It's why we feel the effect of it on our nervous system.

I don't know if we can call it a toxin since you have consume a lot of it to reach LD50.

Considering the fact that my 26-week old premature infant was given doses of caffeine on a daily basis for the purpose of helping/developing breathing.... I would say yeah, there is no doubt in my mind that there are likely benefits to caffeine if anything... Saying anything negative about caffeine as far as medicinal is just stupid as fuck.
