I'm sorry, literature just isn't my favorite subject

Spending a full page in a textbook talking about a bullet wound just isn't worth it, just say 'he got shot and it sucks' or something

I try to appreciate literature, but this is just torture!

It's an excerpt or something in my literature book, comes from An Episode of War by Stephen Crane

I can clearly see the guy is talented and appreciate him being so descriptive, but I think he's crossed the line

Stephen Crane rocks.

ever question why he felt the need to spend so long talking about something so simple? it wasn't just for his own enjoyment 😛 you need to question what it adds to the book.
