God I feel stupid....

Anyway, somehow I managed to totally screw up when right-clicking an .exe file and ended up changing its file association to Winrar. Now of course I can't uninstall Winrar, do a restore or change the association in any other way I can think of because....yeah, you guessed it, all the solutions require starting a program. How utterly mortifying.....

Anyone know a way around this? I really don't want to have to re-install just because of 3 seconds of utter stupidity.

I am not sure (because I didn't even know it was possible to do this) but can you try Control Panel -> Folder Options -> File Types and check the parameters for EXE? That entry doesn't exist on my computer but if it's there on your PC, just delete it/use the restore option (if it exists).

I have no idea if this makes any sense but might be worth a shot.

I checked, but .exe wasn't listed unfortunately. I resoted to the repair function on the install disk, which did the trick and all's well again. Cheers anyway though mate.
