Aww man I hate when bad stuff happens to animals 🙁 Its just like a relative or a loved one 🙁

I used to have 2 brittany spaniels, Bobo and Runkie (name derived from RUNT). One day someone left our back gate open (likely the landscapers). The two of them ran off together side by side, they always did everything together. They were both hit by the same car within 1 mile of my house. Apparently the younger one, Runkie, had stood in front of Bobo as the car hit. The car tore runkie completely in half, and broke bobo's leg and a few ribs. It was so horrible, in the middle of dinner, some highway patrol guys came and knocked on our door and asked my dad to come outside and look in the back of his vehicle. So I got to see Bobo on the way to the animal hospital, he was covered in blood, they said it was from Runkie 🙁 So Bobo got to become the robotic dog, they gave him an external cast that had like 6 pins running into his arm from the cast - looked like this.

Bobo turned out just fine but we had to give him up to a family friend like a year later when my folks split up.

It was so sad, i cried for days about the dogs - like my two best friends 🙁

Perhaps it's allergies? Or have you used any new cleaning chemicals in your home that might be an irritant?

One thing I'm thinking is that maybe she got upset with us moving in with my mom's husband and all. I don't know. AFAIK we haven't used anything different. We never really always used the same products anyway. So.....I don't know. I'll call the vet again in 25 minutes or have my mom do it and see if she can come home.

[EDIT]Man i'm ignorant! I am so busy talking about my life I forgot to tell you that i'm sorry to hear your dog is sick. I'm a pet lover and have a virtual managerie at my house. I have an iguana, countless cats, two dogs and one guinea pig(although this week my fiance will be gettin a surprize guinea pig to cheer her up.)🙂

My fiance and I have, or I should say had two guinea pigs and one just died the day before yesterday of cancer of the bladder. I feel very bad, especially for the lone guinea pig that has no idea what has happened to her partner, and this is the second cagemate she has lost in three years. We just got through burying her an hour ago.🙁
 
Yeah, it sucked pretty bad, as does your situation, too see the poor dog suffering. I guess in a way its almost better for them to have passed on than to be hurting like that. Im sure the doc will find something to help her out quick tho 😉

Im so sensative about animals, dogs mainly, dont ask me why, I just love em. I cant even go to the humane society because I know like 70% of them arent gonna get adopted and will be put down. it really pisses me off when people buy dogs for christmas gifts and stuff, then are like "this dog is too much of a hassle, take it to the pound" That is so fvcking rediculous. Take your goddamn lame ass to the fvkcing pound, stupid bitch. Dont buy the cute lil puppy if you arent gonna provide and care for it. Fvcking morons get me so angry.

Edit: Im sorry ape, that stinks 🙁 Who is up for irony? My first dog, well i was like 3 at the time - my older bro's dog I guess....was ran over by a church van.....:frown:

OMG I'm sooooo sorry! You poor thing. *HUUUUUUUUUUUUUG* for the both of you!

GooberPHX420 - I agree with you there. It's heartbreaking to know that most of those animals are going to be put down. 🙁 I'm such an animal lover. I can't stand to see anything hurting. 🙁

My dog has been missing since late last night. She's been gone overnight once before, so I hope she'll turn up at the backdoor soon.

<< I have two Schnauzers. The youngest one (She's three.) started getting these little bumps on her back that she scratched. Well, they started to get worse so she started to scratch them more. Now, they are infected and it's really bad. I took her to the vet an hour ago. They tried to shave off some of her fur, but it hurt her too badly. 🙁 Plus, he said it's really weird because the bumps have spread to all over her body. You can tell there's infection in the bigger sores, but the little ones are just little sores. So...he wants to biopsy the sores. Also, I had to leave her there so they could put her under to clean up all the wounds. It hurt her too much the other way. It's all going to cost like over $400.00. :Q 🙁 Luckily, they'll take payments. *Sigh* I feel so bad for my dog. I was a CNA and I've seen a lot, but looking at her sores literally made me sick to my stomach. 😱 Why do doctors and vets, etc...have to cost so much? 🙁 🙁

Well, I picked up my dog. They completely shaved her, which is okay because she was in dire need of grooming anyway. lol But....she has huge sores all over her little body. I mean everywhere. 🙁 They won't know anything until the pathology report comes back and that won't be until about Saturday or Monday. So in the meantime, we have to give her anti-biotics twice a day. Poor little thing was "talking" to me all the way home from the vet. She looked miserable.

Did they give her anything to stop the itching (I assume that's why she was scratching)? Cortisone shot perhaps?

Azraele - I don't know if they did or not. Yes, she definitely scratches it. Right now, the only thing they gave us was the anti-biotics.

That's what I was wondering. RIght now we're just watching her to make sure she doesn't scratch. Her favorite thing to do is to go under the coffee table and scratch her back. 🙁 Her back is too sore, I think, to do that. I saw her walk under there and she touched it and didn't do anything. I made sure to get her out though, of course.
 
Damn, my dad loves schnauzers. Especially the miniture schnauzers.. We had a small grey one named Ziggy.. They're very active for their size. Ours, at the age of 17, yes 17 human years, had seizers off and on, but the doctor said it didn't do anything to her. One night, she just passed away, hopefully pain-free.

And sorry about what happend to your puppy, they do cost a lot, but they are worth every penny. Ziggy once had a $700 visit to the vet 😱

Yeah, we have Miniature Schnauzers. I'm sure she'll be fine, she just looks and feels pretty bad right now. When I find out what's wrong, I'll post.

Well, today Kiara seems to be feeling a little better. Her sores still look kind of icky, but she seems to have gotten some of her spunk back. Because they shaved her, she's a little cold so we make sure there's a blanket in the room she's in and try to keep her warm. We should hear anywhere from Saturday to Tuesday about the pathology report.

I called the vet today. The doc said that she had an allergic reaction to something (not sure what though), scratched the sores, and the sores got infected. That's all! No cancer and nothing serious. 😀 So.....the dog is doing better and taking her medicine like a good girl. 😉 Heehee
