I'm so pissed off right now. Fu*k that. I'm moving out of the fu*king house. I can't stand living with these people no more. They just piss me off everyday fu*king day. I can't fu*king wait to go back to fu*king school. That way I can fu*king enjoying my fu*king freedom and don't have to deal with them. Fu*king damn first generation Chinese parents. They have no fu*king sense of American culture in them. All my dad does making fu*king comments and sh!t. It's like he thinks he is never wrong and like I'm suppose to follow some sort of code on how I should live my life. Fu*k that. Any comments guys? I'm just listening away to Linkin Park's "Points of Authority". I can relate to that fu*king song.

Yup, you just showed us how mature and and adult like you are. You're fully capable of making rational and sound judgment.

NyQuil LiquiGels are your best friend.

OR

bang your head against nearest wall. this will put you in sleep whether you can or can't.

True, it's also cheaper as well.

does that make it a hot deal?

No because by definition a Hot Deal is where you can buy it cheaper than retail.

Retail price of head banging inducing sleep = $0

Hot Deals price of head banging inducing sleep = $0

So sorry it's not a hot deal 🙁

thats not true, it can cost up to $200 to go headbanging (at a bad concert).

yes, indeed. but we are strictly talking about headbanging nearest wall. 😎

Ummm..I just wanted to quote this because it was getting really long and I tend to like when posts like this get quoted 300 times.

me too

How gay.

For a minute there, I thought this was going to be another one of those "I hate my father, he wants to buy me a brand new Honda Accord, but I want a Toyota Supra not some stupid Accord. He says he'll buy me the Supra, but I have to pay for the gas. What an a-hole!"
If they charge me rent, I would be happy to pay them rent. But I'd rather live at my friend's house because he only charges $160 a month. I have a car that they paid for. It's a 94' Integra. If they want me to make monthly payments to it, I'd also be happy too. If that means doing what I want and not be nagged at every damn minute of my time at the house, I would do it
Here's the deal, since I went through a similar situation with my parents: they're not allowing you to live there rent free, buying you a car, so on and so forth, so that you can 'have fun' by blowing all your money. They think you should be using this opportunity of having no expenses, an opportunity they are providing you at their expense, to be saving, and you're just blowing your money.

As I said, I went through the same thing with my parents, except they didn't buy me a '94 Integra, I bought my own car that was almost as old as I was and in far worse shape. Outside of a car, I blew all my money on 'fun' things. They finally said 'If you're just going to throw your money away and save nothing, then you might as well be throwing some of it our way; from now on you can pay for all of your own clothes, shoes, school needs, and you can start paying us rent.'

They were disappointed for two reasons. First, that I didn't want to save money in the first place. Second, if I was going to spend it, that I would chose to spend it on bullsh-t instead of using the money to buy all of the stuff that I needed but my parents were paying for.

IOW, you're trying to get away with as much as you can, instead of taking some responsibility for yourself and showing some maturity, and you're taking advantage of your parents, just like I was.

I wouldn't be so quick to embrace the 'bad' parts of American culture, which is being obsessed with material things and failing to realize that life exists beyond the next two paychecks.

Man, show some respects, they are your parents afterall. Feel what is love. 🙂

fu*king A! You don't need to save no money up! You don't need to think about your future! Why don't you just stop talking to your parents and disown them?

Yah yah, that's the ticket! Afterall you know everything and your parents are clueless....

Hear Hear

Umm who is paying for your school?

I thought all parents were like that.
I too was tired of that, I grew up, got a job, and moved the f&%k out!
But, looking back, they could not be more right.

I would like to add these few lines of HTML code to congratulate the fine members of ATOT on the surprisingly sensible posts in this thread. There have been several posts in the past similar to the little tantrumZclyh3 threw here, but this is the first time I found noone agreeing with or encouraging his rebellious attitude. It's threads like this one that keep me from abandoning AT for good. tscenter gets my vote for best post.

Zclyh3, take 5 to think about why your parents are nagging you. Because they want to make your life miserable? Yeah, has to be that, and your '94 Integra is part of the torture plan too... You are acting and thinking like a 12-year-old. Your parents try to talk some sense into you, and this is how you react? Calm down and carefully think about the good advice that is being offered to you here. And again, think about what motivation is behind the advice you father was trying to give you. It should not be hard to figure out that it was genuine concern for the future of their beloved child, who is quickly becoming an adult but does not yet exhibit the maturity that is necessary to survive in the adult world.

You say you want to move out and start living an independent life? Well, I've got bad news for you: you are nowhere near ready yet.

1. THAT WAS EXCESSSIVE USE OF THE WORD F*CK
2. IF YOU MOVE OUT YOU WONT HAVE ANY MONEY TO DO FUN STUFF WITH.
3. A PENNY SAVED IS A PENNY EARNED.
4. THAT WAS EXCESSIVE USE OF THE WORD F*CK.
5. I THINK THIS THREAD IS FAKE TO CAUSE A RUCKUS.

my parents are like that too and the only thing they give me is free rent. How did your dad know you spent 1.4K? I don't tell my parent what I bought. that way no arguement. I remember 2 months ago I got yelled at for getting my tires rotated at 8K miles (57 miles each way to and from my internship) instead of at 12K. I can't believe I got yelled at for spending $24 of my own money on something that was legitimate. Next year when I go to grad school, I'm going to be living in the dorms.

I turn 22 in 2 months and my parents didn't become more understanding over the years, i just got better at ignoring them.

Let me guess. They are paying for your education, room and board? If you want to declare yourself independent and stop living off of them, then you should do that. You will probably regret it soon though...

move the hell out if you dont like it. That will teach you to stop wasting money. $1400 isnt bad for 18 months, but how much do you make? if you make $5.25 and work 15 hours a week i'd call you crazy.

totally agree, live with your parents until you graduate and get a real job for a few months.

I'm going to live rent free until I finish with grad school.

not too long ago my mom said I should buy one oh those houses that was split in half so she could live next door to me. I told her no because I was going to live with her and get married and have my wife, children, and grand children all live with her. It was pretty funny. I'm going to move out after I've had a job for a few months or if I get a job that was pretty far from home.

Be careful what you ask for.....

you might get it!

Life is very expensive, your parents will always be your parents. No matter how old you are (or they are), they will always give you advice. As you mature, you will learn when to take it and when not to. However, the advice will never stop until the day they die and that is the way it should be.

Be grateful for what you have right now and don't take them for granted. You will have many years ahead of you where you will have to pay for everything. Enjoy the time right now where you have disposable income and try to save some ($50-$100 a month) will make a huge difference and will make your parents (and you) proud. Try it.

F*kin' Aaaa! Here's a bump for a f*kin' interestin' thread! Badda-bing, badda-boom! 😎

You will find out soon enough how HARD it is to live on your own. You may be sick of Chinese food already, but when you are paying for everything yourself, Ramen Noodles will be your best friend. One package Ramen Chicken Flavored noodles, with a hand full of either rice or egg noodles mixed in is a meal. After a week, it's a psychosis. :Q

If you don't like it, move out. I never really got along with my folks when I was living under their roof so I moved out as soon as I could (age 18). I've been on my own financially ever since. It can be done, trust me.

If you're not willing to do this, then I agree with the sentiment that you need to just STFU and quit whining about your free ride.
