A business trip consisting of little business. I'll be here until Thursday and so far I love it! I live in Las Vegas, so the sight of green trees and plants everywhere is a refreshing change. We took a drive through the city and along one of the coast/bay roads. The scenery is absolutley gorgeous. It rained for a very short time today, temps in the mid to upper 60's. If I wouldn't get sick of the rain I would probably move here if the opportunity ever came up. Traffic was bad but not much worse than Vegas. Tomorrow we'll dive by Microsoft in Redmond and do some more exploring. Then in 2 weeks it's off to Portland for more of the same (except for more actual work to be done). Honestly though, Seattle seems like a great place to live and I look forward to the rest of my trip.

I lived there for 12 years. I enjoyed it very much, the only thing that ever bothered me was the growing homeless population.

You should visit Pike Place while you're there, the fish market is always fun to see. 🙂

Been up here 5+ years - I really like it. Not sure how long I'll stay, but I can imagine myself settling down somewhere around here eventually.

The park north of Pike Place sucks though... Some hobos called my family out when I was there. One was trying to act tough saying "What are you looking at?", and the other one was preaching about how my family was drinking starbucks and how we're all stuck up.

The only problem with Seattle is there aren't many amusement parks to amuse yourself in, so you got to find others ways of entertainment.

If you like Seattle because all of the "greens" you see, you'll like Redmond even more. Microsoft spent a lot of money to make it's campus all clean and spiffy too.

Go hang out in pike place market.

And like ricochet said, if you like all the green then you'll like Redmond a lot. Also check out Bellevue, maybe go have dinner there.

You live in the desert town called vegas.

you heavent seen the acres of lawns from the McMansions with water sprinkles running 24/7? and the multiple golf courses in a 5mile radius?

and of course the palm trees on the Strip.

again, it's the desert, man. what do you mean u havent seen lush growth?

I can't tell if this post is loaded with sarcasm or not.. Are you seriously comparing vegas vegetation to seattle? They don't look anything alike. A fenced off golf course here and there? Big friggin deal.

As far as moving here, I'd have to check out housing and general cost of living, but it sure is tempting. We havent made it out to Redmond yet, I've spent the majority of my time in Bellevue though.

There's supposed to be a steakhouse in downtown seattle that's awesome. I can't remember the name of it though. It's not morton's or ruth's chris.

Metropolitan Grill is the one i have heard about

Get out and enjoy the city. Pike Place Market is a must, as others have said.

Don't worry about the hobos and the homeless. Get used to "GIVE ME CHANGE OR I'LL KICK YOU!" signs

And watch the jaywalking. 😀

I'd do the Space Needle and the Duck Tour while you're there. The SciFi museum, Music Experience Project, and nearby Museum Of Flight are cool as well!
