Really bad cold or mild flu? Really sore muscles and joints. Stuffy head and sinuses. Throat feels like sandpaper. Hard of hearing, nothing tastes like much. Lethargy. Tinny bit of a temp 37.5 deg C. That's sort of borderline fever so I'm not sure what to call it. Basically feel like I got ran over by a truck, luckily not vomiting yet :)

But I have the week off work vacation. Not sure how to feel about that. The job I have is the type where I would probably have to work sick anyway (retail) so it's good not to be sick and working, but then that sorta ruins my days off. Oh well more time to delve into Jeane D'arc and FF Tactics on my PSP.

Anyone here share my semi enjoyment of being sick? That borderline area where you have a bad cold and a bit of a temp and ache all over sort of feels really cosy and warm.

Yeah I know I'm rambling and sound drunk but I'm not. Hmm... would alcohol kill some of this or just make things worse?....

I enjoy a mild cold from time to time. Nothing like loading up on meds and watching tv for a few days straight.

You're not alone. It's nice to have something force me to take a few days off of work every now and then.

Back in the day they used to say alcohol helps, but while it can kick out germs & you sweat it out it also dehydrates you. So, it never really worked well for me.

I would suggest herbal tea, your regular grocery store (might be in the organic section if not in the reg. tea isle) should have it and they have ones labeled for colds, soar throat, etc and different ailments & I use herbal tea for just about everything and they work. Lots of clear fluids stay away from caffine & sugar. Get some throat drops too & some alka seltzer drink stuff for the stuffiness (at first at least) then keep up with the tea.

Sorry your sick :(

Thanks but like I said I'm kind of enjoying it for now. I've never been one to go in for all that herbal tea as remedy stuff ... not saying it doesn't help it just reminds me too much of aroma therapy and lots of other pseudo science crap. Not that alcohol would work medially any better, but it would feel nice ;) What I need is a couple of Tylenol 3s and a shot of wisky... I remember being prescribed a small amount once, mmmm that was nice. Scary actually cause I could seriously see getting addicted to that feeling.

I'm going to go take some meds to dope me up, take a SCALDING hot bath and curl up in the blankets and play my PSP.

I was sick for 3 weeks in August. It sucked bad. Dont even know how I got it.

Started off as a mild cold.
Then severe cold.
Then lotsa flu symptoms.
Finally had serious mono symptoms.

Went to the doctor.
Charged me 764 dollars to say he had no clue and I should take some generic pain killers.

I hate doctors.

$764!?! Wow US health care FTL. My father had a pacemaker "installed" and didn't pay a dime.

Ok did this last night and my fever got like 5 times worse but then broke sometime during the night. Feeling a little better now back to mainly cold symptoms.
