I'm sick of the stock VGA/CPU fans

Long story short, the CPU fan moans when the temperature gets moderately high say 40C and the VGA fan is like a mini hair dryer when launching any 3D program.

Current setup:
Case: Centurion 532 (RC-532)
Mobo: Cheap Biostar PT880 Pro-A7 Combo
CPU: Pentium D 805 with stock heatsink/fan
VGA: Evga 7600GT with stock heatsink/fan

Current temperatures:
CPU: Room ~19C. Idling ~33C according to speedfan. Load ~40-45C? (guessing).
VGA: 2D mode ~45C according to RivaTuner. 3D mode ~60C? fan spins at 55% duty.

CPU and video card are not overclocked. I am just looking for something "quiet" even when the cpu/vga fans are spinning at maximum speed. Performances aren't too important for both just as long as the CPU doesn't get cooked to 65C or so under load. I am happy if the temps are the same as stock just as long as they aren't noisy at max speeds. Also have two 120mm intake/exhaust case fans that're pretty quiet. They're rated at 22dB at 1200rpm fixed. I am a bit hesitant in those big heatsinks since I don't know if my mobo/case combination will fit. Any recommendations?

I used to run a Scythe Mine 3 HSF, and that sucker was dead quiet! I had to get a flashlight and look inside the fins, the first time I ran it. I thought the fan was dead. It isn't too big, and it does a good enough job at cooling...

Don't know what to tell you on the GPU cooler, except I would replace it before it fries your card! Personally, I run a Sytrin KuFormula VF1 Plus cooler. I think it's quiet, but other ppl think their's is noisey, soooo....

If I was buying a VGA cooler today, I'd get the Thermalright's HR-03 gorilla. It's the only one that will beat a Systrin VF1, hands-down, and it doesn't take a lot of air to do it! ;)

Yeah, it came with a fan -- a medium speed fan.

You can buy a high speed replacement fan, but it really isn't necessary!

Here are some pics...

I got a Scythe Mine recently and it is dead quiet, you cannot hear the thing at all.

I use a Scythe Infinity for my CPU which cools way better than even the stock Opty heatpiped heatsink, and the Zalman VF900-Cu on my video card @ 5v, and they both are outstanding coolers and very quiet.

peace..

BTW im having fun with my new screenshot progie download :p

Nice, what kind of liquid cooling system is that?

The opty underwent a handmidown from my X2. The X2 is now retired and is happy at sub stock voltage in my mom's little shuttle staying all nice and cool.

My watercooling kit consists of:

Swiftech Apogee
2 x DD Maze4 GPU
HW Labs Blackice GT STealth 120x2 <-- front
HW LAbs Blackice GT STealth 120x1 <-- dumps excessive heat from core b4 it goes into video cards

2 x D5 Liangs + 1 Swiftech Micro Resivour.

This isnt my golden setup however. My golden setup would be on my QX.

120x3 Thermochil PA,
3 x DDC Liangs with a 2x1 conversion top from frozen-cpu and 1 single to help with GPU flow.
Swiftech Storm rev.2
DD 8800GTX block

I wanted to cool the NB on the 680 board, but if u guys seen the striker i dont know where to start in taking the heat pipes apart. Plus there pretty dayam efficient with the mini fans it comes with that i decided not to watercool the NB

Also my QX6700 is in rehab at the moment. I blew the seasonic S12-700 that was ment to feed her. Its in the middle of RMA and i am currently debating on a PCnC 1KW or a silverstone Zeus 850. But i expect better temps out of the QX6700 since it has better gear

Well latez :]
