Wow! This is GREAT! I've sent out 22 questionaires and already received 11 back. You guys are going to save me from certain sacrifice at the hands of the committee!

Anybody else willing to be my guinea pig? I'll be gentle, I promise! And I REALLY appreciate your help!

As a fellow PhD student who is taking his preliminary exam next week, I feel your pain. Unfortunately, I'm not an IT manager, or I'd be the FIRST person to help you out.

Just a suggestion.... have you tried local companies? Or departments on campus? I know my department at VT has an IT manager that handles our computer systems... you might could find some on campus to help you out.

Anyhow... best of luck!!! (soon to be Dr. NightShadow)

Seriously, post this in the Distributed Computing too! I'm sure you'll get some respondents from there! :)

Hey - I'm grateful for any and all help I can get. I'll post in the Distributed Computing forum. Just hope the mods don't get mad at me for begging all over these forums!

Anandtechers have been a Godsend! I'd just about given up hope I'd ever get the respondents I needed. Now I'm only 27 respondents short.

Anybody else willing to let me pick your brain for 5 minutes?

:)

Weird, my company just did a similar survey for IT managers and treasury managers--asking them specifically about financial technology implementations. I'd actually be very interested to see the questionnaire instrument and the data you found (would I have to sign an NDA or something for that--or is this confidential until you present your thesis?)

I'm all too hapy to share! The survey itself is an adaptation of several others that are already in the public domain. As far as the results go, once they are approved by my committee I'll be happy to share them too.:)

Know anyone who would be willing to fill out a questionaire for me?

Well I suppose I could post my pic when I meet my quota. But I'm afraid you guys would be disappointed. I'm just your average smart, brunette, green eyed PhD student. Oh, and I was Female Athlete of the Year for Indiana University for the year I graduated from my undergrad. My sport is Fencing. :p

Remember the quality level of hormones here.

Brians do not count and as long as they think that it is from the opposite sex, you get appreciated. However, airbrushing your picture generates better responses for those you are shallow.
