Hi,
I found this Uniden phone on Telephone Depot located in Toronto. It's only $39.99 because it's a refurbished model. I have an old refurbished Uniden here (very old), I've never had any problems with it, but since I moved in an appartment for University, I get a lot of interference (well I also did at home, but not this bad), and it only stays charged like 2 days. So that's why I'd like to change it.

I was wondering if it was a good phone... it's a 900Mhz phone, but with DSS (digital spread spectrum). I don't really need a super-duper range of operation, I just want it to sound [very] clear in my appartment and maybe outside, near the appartment.

Also, any tips to try to know if I won't get ripped off by that store?
(I emailed them to tell them their transactions server was down and they replied the next day)

I can vouch for the Uniden TRU346 2.4GHz which I got from Amazon for $69.00 after a $10.00 coupon was added. I usually stick with the Panasonic KX-TC series cordless, but I couldn't find a deal on a 2.4GHz unit when I needed one. They're about twice the price of the Uniden with the same features.

That Uniden I linked to can reach farther than my 900MHz analog Panasonics. The sound is the same from both ends, but I prefer the Panasonic size and shape to the Uniden.

Can't help you with info that store...

Amazon doesn't ship that phone to Canada, however 800.com does... it comes to $85US shipped, so it's about $130CAD. My dad said I could have it for XMas if I wanted... but if it breaks, who am I supposed to deal with, since I'm in Canada and the phone comes from the states?
