used to be easy in 98. you make a boot disk, and format c:. Now i made a boot disk for Xp, but lo and behold there's no option to format. I type format c: and says bad command.

So i tried using my win 98 cd and it said the drive is ntfs and not fat 32 so it couldn;t do anything.

OK so...how the heck to I wipe out my hard drive? Ihave win xp on ntfs..I want it wiped out and i want to install 98se on fat32 (of course)

You will need the Windows XP CD. Insert the CD, boot up your computer as if you were about to install it (EDIT: Windows XP) and then during the initial stage of the installation process wipe your drive.

This is the case if you're talking about the C: partition, on which you already have Windows XP installed. If you have XP on C: and would like to format D: or E:, for instance, it can be done from within Windows, similarly to Windows 98.

Boot your win98 floppy, run FDISK, delete the NTFS partition, then run the win98 install.

Oh, I just realized you wanted to install Windows 98. Why would you want Windows 98 anyway?
