1 week ago i bought my very first amd, the amd64 3200+ 0.09nm and the msi neo2 platinum motherboard - it was the obvious choice, it has won all the tests and awards here on anandtech

4 weeks ago i bought some new memory modules for my p4, some GeIL 2x512 Ultra-X PC3200 DDR400 2-2-2-5 modules - kickass ones! also according to anandtech theyre the fastest PC3200 modules they have ever tested. So i bought those modules thinking they would be the perfect match for my upcoming amd and msi board. Now here comes the fun part, i have NEVER had so many problems getting them to run at proper performance rates, ive tried everything, and i mean EVERYTHING - atleats i think so ;/ ive read on several forums, even on msis own and guides here on anandtech on how to change the setting on the modules in the bios to get the best performance with my socket 939 cpu. Anandtech says, at 2-2-2-10 and 1T you'll get the best performance, and maybe i am getting the best performance, but im getting a kick in my nutts with several bsods and random reboots. IF i change the settings to default but changing the command rate to 2T it works great, no bsods, no nothing, and worst of all NO performance. 2T gives me 4900 mb/s and 1T gives me about 5600 mb/s

im running out of options on what to do ,\ is it completely impossible to get my configuration to run with 1T? im really thinking about sending back the hardware and then just buy like a gameboy instead ;<

help me out!

0.09nm chip!? Since when!? 😛

Seriously, I would just stick with 2T if it works. Judging from your statistics it's only a 14% increase in speed anyway...

haha my bad, 0.9nm even

well if i wanted to stick with the 2T timings i would have sticked with my p4 2.8ghz that performed the same mb/s as this amd64 running 2T. But the fact that i KNOW that it can perform up to 6 gb/s makes me not want to settle with much less

well thats it, im going to send back the corsair modules i bought to see if it worked with those and the motherboard, i dont think its the cpu thats the problem here ;\
