im reformatting my comp, typed setup.exe and it says"this program cant be run in DOS mode"

try running winnt.exe or boot from the cd

I recomend booting from the cd
 
I ran into the same problem when I used a boot floppy and attempted to use the setup.exe. I ended up booting to the cd....... all worked then.
