yeah, I have considered the possibility that the vid card could just be no good... I don't have another rig to test it on right now... I could always buy yet MORE parts and throw a different one in the machine. I've reseated it also.

Nope, only the MS VIA AGP patch is, not the AMD Win2K patch. I know SOMEONE is gonna disagree with me because you would think it would be, and everyone says it is. But I have searched the Win2K SP2 fix list and Q270715 is NOT fixed in SP2. BTW Q270715 is just MS's version of the fix...

Yeah, I was just about to mention that... thanks guys.. I will try it out this weekend and report back on how it goes.

If that DOES fix the problem you gotta wonder why it isn't in Win2K SP2
