I'm reading i can SLI 8800gt & 9800gt together?

hey all, i have an SLI mobo and wanna upgrade my 8800gt to SLI, but i can't find any 8800gt in stock, only 9800gt. i've read that since they're basicly the same card, i can SLI them as long as i flash the bios of my 8800gt to a 9800gt. in some case i read u dont even need to flash the bios? is any of this true?

i'd prefer not to buy a used 8800gt as i can find new 9800gt for a mere $20-$30 more and that would pretty much be the cost of shipping for my situation (i work in Korea & japan @ moment).

It sounds reasonable, but try to get a bios from a 65nm 9800gt, preferably from a 9800gt made by that same manufacturer. That should have the highest chance of success. If it doesn't work, it shouldn't be a problem to flash it back to the original bios since you've got a second card.
