See, that?s a good recommendation. Even though it?s one of the cheapest solutions for a Core 2 setup right now, this setup will easily OC to over 3Ghz+. Bearing in mind he already has DDR memory, so he would need to purchase some decent PC2 6400 ram too.
Surely there must be some bundles available, with similar hardware included?

The Prescott supported DDR2 800, I don't think there were any motherboards that suppoeded DDR although that may have changed - so chances are he already has DDR2 800 memory and depending on the memory it will probably be able to go faster then its rated speed. To really overclock, yea he would probably want some DDR2 1333 - but it sounds like hes a novice and may not want to overclock too much any way
