i'm procrastinating... so here is a poll: are you vegetarian?

did i spell vegetarian right?! anyway, i was just eating some spagetti and i had no meat in it. i was hungry, so i ate it anyway. but i just feel empty without having any beef, pork, or chicken. that got me thinking, what percent of ppl are vegetarians? what better place to start a poll then here 😀 if ur a vegetarian, what do u eat? i think i would starve if i were forced to become a vegetarian.

EDIT: i'm done procrastinating. i had an exam at 6 today... finally got studying at 4 in a nice quiet classroom on campus. hehe... i hope the procrastination gene is recessive amongst my kids 😀

You should change it to omnivore and herbivore. A carnivore would eat only meat, and I don't think too many people fit that description (cadbury creme eggs are not meat). As a lacto-ovo vegetarian, I eat things that aren't meat. Breakfast: cereal, juice, muffins, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Lunch/Dinner: Cheese sandwiches, PBJ sandwiches, pasta (mmm... macaroni and cheese), lasagna, salads, rice, hell, too many options to list.

I like to consider myself a bear.. The only meat I usually eat is fish.

I have been eating some chicken lately, though. :frown:

Agree with a few of the above. I'm not even sure that a human can survive as a carnivore (a fair number of the cat family can). That said, omni, though I try to veer to the veggie side of things. It's just better for you most of the time.

I eat...

Well? What are you looking at? I EAT! That's all. (IE, if it's not moving, I'll eat it. Or make it stop moving, at least... 😀)

Point of information for anyone who cares:

Vegan: You eat no products associated with animals in any way, including honey.

Vegetarian: You eat no meat. Can be modified by lacto, ovo, or both. Lacto meaing you eat dairy products (like ice cream), and ovo meaning you eat eggs.

I suppose so, although I keep breaking my diet every week with bird. Boy do I love turkey. I broke it the last two nights running with speghetti. I'm not a very good vegetarian am I? I had milk in my carnation instant breakfast this morning too...darn!

Wow, so many carnivores... they must be Filipino, eat nothing but meat. Fruits and vegetables are like bad for their body or something. 🙂

Haha j/k.

You got vegetarian right, but spelled spaghetti wrong. 😉

What're you procrastinating on anyway? Get back to studying!

<< Vaginavore >>

Is that like a vagitarian?

Nope, not a vegatarian, nothing better than a nice, thick porterhouse!

I eat both. The only meat I'll eat is beef and chicken. I hate the taste of other meats such as fish, pork, etc.

A question for the vegetarians:
Can you still be a vegetarian if you eat meat unknowingly? What I'm interested in is what are you if you don't purposely eat meat but you eat french fries (forgetting that they contain meat or meat residue), accidently swallow a bug (humans average 3 spiders per year), or something else without your knowledge? Is ignorance an acceptable excuse - or does that force you into the omnivore column?

(emphasis mine)

Short answer: yes.

Long(er) answer: since when you choose to become a vegetarian, you choose not to eat meat and attempt to avoid it, accidentally eating products containing muscle tissue or similar which require the death of an animal (or Human 😀 ) means that you did not know that you were eating meat, and therefore you haven't broken your 'vow' (to put it in a more official way).

i don't eat mammals. and i'm trying to give up dairy. it's actually surprisingly easy to do in california...they have tons of soy food that tastes just like the real thing (like corn dogs, cheese, etc.)

mmmm... baby cow.... 🙂

haha, i love saying that when i go to olive garden and order a veal parm with my vegetarian friends 🙂
