Running windows XP pro, 512 ram, AMD 1700 XP. Do not overclock anyhting. PC used for general at home stuff and then mostly first person shootem games...Unreal, Quake, Serious Sam... I do not play alot. I currently have a GF2 GTS Pro 32 meg video card.

I have narrowed the selection down to:
GF4 440mx
ATI 8500le
ATI 9000 pro

All of these can be had for under $100. Which would you recomend for my situation?

Thanks...

Or you can get the ATI RADEON 8500LE 64MB DDR (Bulk) for $89. It has 250MHz core and 275MHz memory (DDR550). It also has 3.3ns memory that can be overclocked like mad. This card can be easily flashed to 275MHz core and 275MHz+ memory too. This card is DEFINITELY the best card for under $100!

The Radeon 8500 LE at newegg is a great choice, or if you wanna go even cheaper get the Radeon 9000 for $67. I have one running 300/250, it seems to be about 10% slower than a stock 8500.

I've had the 8500LE and now have the 9000 Pro. Maybe it's just me, but the 9000 Pro seems to run a little better. Technically it's suppose to be slower, but it's using architecture from the 9700. Video looks better on the 9000 than the 8500. The 9000 Pro is the better value in my opinion. Don't let the price fool you - just because it's cheaper than the 8500.

Don't get LE if you decide on the 8500 - it's can do dual display.

I figured I'd continue this thread instead of starting a new one since it's the same topic.

I am replacing my current video card which has a tv tuner, and I want to retain TV viewing capability. I'm also on a budget of ~$130 and I need some opinions here. What should I get?
-an AIW card: 8500DV is way too much, bu the 7500 is right at my price limit.
-a Gf4 440MX and a TV Tuner
-a Radeon 9500Pro and a Tv Tuner (this is getting a high in price)

And if you think I should get a TV Tuner, which would you recommend?
