Is this a deal of you need to buy the others to get the install to work? Like you cant install the Lich King right on top of the 1st?

You need Classic before you can install TBC, and TBC before you can install WLK. You can't skip.

Thats what I figured after thinking about it.

It is good to note that you probably don't even need that much initially anyway. If you do not want to play as a Draenei (space goat) or a Blood Elf (metrosexual), then you don't need TBC. Although, this means you cannot play a Shaman on the Alliance faction or a Paladin on the Horde faction as those are specific to the aforementioned TBC-only races. If you do not wish to play as one of those, you can simply buy the original and there's no real reason to buy TBC until level 58, which is when you can enter the Outlands on your own accord. Note that I put that stipulation, because you can be summoned or take a Mage-created portal at any level.

You don't need Wrath of the Lich King until you hit 55 or 68. The level difference depends on if you want to play a Death Knight or not, because you must have at least one level 55 character on any server to create a Death Knight, which requires the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Also, be aware that I did mention level 58 as a time to get TBC above... and as Baked mentioned, you will need TBC to install WotLK (it says this on the box as well). If you do not wish to play a Death Knight, then you are able to head to Northrend at level 68 on one of the various boats or zeppelins. Just like before, you can receive a summon or take a Mage portal before this level though.

Unless you're planning to be Horde and you want a Blood Elf Warlock (Draenei can't be Warlocks, so it's not an issue for Alliance). Also, you cannot train the Jewelcrafting profession without TBC, but you can train the Inscription profession without WotLK.

Wtf? I don't know what any of that means.

Just gimme the low down. I want an Alliance warlock. Am I missing out on anything important by jumping to LK?

It's one thing to reward players for the game playing but just to get a bunch of stupid badges / achievements that have no benefit makes lazy game programmers.

it also makes people play like assholes even more than they usually do, just to get said achievements

Does power leveling work? As in, are there legit sites out there? I've heard of many peeps getting ripped off.

I must admit, I'm tempted to do this, maybe to level 60 or 70. After all, we all know the game doesn't start until you reach level 80.

There is no point in powerleveling and I'll tell you why. First off, if you know what you're doing, you can literally hit level 80 in about a week and a half (more competent people in even less time, especially if you have friends to powerlevel you or if you use RAF). The quests in WoTLK are fun as hell and you'll easily make 4-5 thousand gold from quests leveling from 70 to 80.

Secondly, people don't want a level 80 in their group that doesn't know how to play their character. I've seen people in purples play like dog poo; people want competent players in their guild. I literally leveled so fast from 70 to 80 that I was shocked; I hadn't played for about 2 years at all, picked up WoTLK and went from 68 to 80 in about a week of casual playing. By the time I hit 80 I already had enough gold just from doing quests to get my epic mount (which I never saved up the gold for in BC).

I'm about 6 months clean from WoW. And lost 30 lbs afterwards. But I can hear it calling... I"m glad summer is coming because I'm still tempted to pick up WotLK and see what's new. But, I must stay strong... I can do it...

LOL- you'd have to spend 8+ hours a day playing to get to 80 in a week and a half. If you play 1-3 hours a night, plan on about 3 months to get to 80.
