You're fine. I've seen addicts who used various kinds of dope for longer than you have been alive eventually recover fairly normal brain function once they get clean.

Is there anyway you feel confident enough to just get off everything and jump feet first into life? About the only thing on there I think is ok is mary jane. Everything else seems dangerous in the long term. If you could just forget about that list and get away with smoking pot, that's what I would suggest.

Yea I've self-medicated myself with many different drugs and always did my research. I think the drugs I've used are still relatively "safe"....even compared to some of the proscription meds I've taken

Yes, but I need something for all the things I'm diagnosed me or my anxiety/depression will kill me

have you tried meth? I suspect it will fix everything that's wrong in your life and leave you a better person for it.

Bummer.. im 22 and haven't done any.

Im also depressed and have social anxiety, but finding a good girlfriend took care of my problems

Nope. I think you're being sarcastic but crystal meth is a very powerful drug with little potential for therapeutic use and medicinal value. I've done amphetamine which is very similar to methamphetamine however. I just think the side effects and abuse potential of methamphetamine outweighs any positive effects from it based on the research I've done.

Don't worry - the drugs only do you harm in this life. Xeno will rescue you after along with Tom Cruise, The Pope and Sarah Palin.

Are you still taking anything for depression? Might wanna try out Wellbutrin.

I have done lots of stuff myself in the past but I just don't have an addictive personality. Alcohol is easily the thing I have the most "issues" with.

Regardless, if your concern for your mental health has prompted you to make this thread then maybe you should drop the drugs that aren't prescribed to you by a doctor or mental health professional.

Mixing all that crap in your body isn't going to do anything good for you.

I'm on just Celexa and a little Klonopin at the moment.

Wellbutrin will be my next med...What did it do for you?

Avoid Methamphetamine, Coke, Heroin (and other opioids), and alcohol.

Do you think the Pharmas you've taken have helped?

holy shit son

do you feel like you'd kill yourself without any of that for a day?

oh, and you know "speed", amphetamine, is the same thing as Adderall, yes?

For all the chemicals listed, and all the disorders listed, prepare to get raped here on ATOT. Just sayin'. 😉

IMHO: cut out half of that shit. See a psychiatrist who is willing to help you improve your life without medication. Some medications are necessary, others just fuck things up even more.
Most of those things are indeed based around neurotransmitter imbalances, but that can be remedied without daily prescription meds that can put them even further from the average baseline.

Some natural remedies can help smooth out your NT levels that are likely all over the map.

Try increasing intake of Omega 3s and Omega 6s. Fish Oil is a good start.
Try 5-HTP, an amino acid that is part of the production process for a few NTs.
Try increasing protein intake, as the amino acids that make up proteins, some of them, can be very important for maintaining healthy NT levels. Various treenuts, peanuts, meats, each can contain proteins that have assorted amino acids, and the assorted nuts and seeds can be good sources of essential fatty acids too (omega 3s, 6s, 9s).
Can take a protein supplement, a small serving, of a product that advertises high BCAAs, amino acids that are used in various parts of your body. The focus for the supplements is muscle growth, but many of them are important for the CNS.

I know you like experimenting with illicit drugs because it makes you feel more connected to the world, or something like that. But mind the concept that a young, still developing brain needs to be careful of certain drugs.
Stay away from LSD and Psilocybin, seriously. They are great, sure... but they can bring about mental disorders that are lingering, sort of like activate brain issues that were hiding in the background. You already have a host of mental health issues, want to drive and find more? Or, if you don't care, knock yourself out.
MDMA, you don't want that.
And it has been suggested weed, while not really harmful for adults, can basically retard brain development if abused during adolescence.

For what it's worth my ex-wife had a history of mental health problems and moderate use of pot made her delusional and borderline psychotic. She claimed to be able to read people's minds. This behavior disappeared after she discontinued smoking pot.

For some people a little weed can cause big mental health problems.

Nothing really. I tried it for a couple months a while back but I did not feel like it did anything. For some people it seems to work good though, who knows. I find that when Im down the best thing to do is go have a couple drinks with friends and hit on chicks.

That being said, be careful with the whole benzos and alcohol. I have had some family who have had some real issues on those.

You know being anxious, nervous, and fearful are actually normal feelings. The more practice you have doing these things, the less they have an effect on you.

I'm a retreatist too, but making small goals for yourself and taking small steps to accomplish things you never thought possible is a lot better than medicating yourself into a coma.

do you think you are messed up because you have taken all these drugs, or do you think you are taking drugs because you are messed up?
