I get excited about nice socks and enjoy getting them as gifts. I have two huge drawers full of nothing but socks, easily 80 pairs for every dress and weather. And I want more.

Cold weather socks? Check
Warm weather socks? Check
Cold dress socks? Check
Warm dress socks? Check
Wicking socks? Check, big huge check
Merino wool socks in heavy, medium and light? Big huge check
Snowboarding sock? Check

but I do like my smartwool socks.

yessir. I prolly have 20 pair. I never throw them out. just add to the collection every christmas.

No I do not.

I still don't.

k. Then hit up wiki for underarmor. There's gotta be some good information there.

Basically it's both dependent upon weave and the actual materials used. Essentially it's form-fitting, fairly tight (but flexes without resistance, so it's not like wearing some other types of tight clothing), and most importantly, it helps regulate body temperature during activity.

I just buy white cotton socks from Walmart in packs of 10 or 12. Refresh my Thorlos running socks every other quarter. Thats it. No need for more socks.

I feel your pain. I now can only stand premium dress socks at work (Pantherella is my favorite, but Sears now has a premium Covington house brand that is excellent at half the price).

What brand of dress socks do you recommend? My feet sweat a little more in full leather shoes.
