Well guys, I'm leaving for Myrtle Beach in about 15 minutes. Getting ready to shut down my home rigs. I think my work rigs will still be running for a few days, but I can't make any promises given the power issues they have from time to time. See you all in about 11 days!

Ah, Myrtle Beach. Nothing quite like walking along the ocean's edge early in the morning!

Don't forget the sunblock and don't pay any attention to all those lovely young ladies galavanting around on the beach wearing next-to-nothing. :Q

Have a great vacation, HA!

At least, don't do it while your significant other is watching. ;)
But snap some pictures for us so we can appreciate your vacation adventures when you get back. :D

Mike

Not like you needed any help :p

Anyway, I'm back now. I got my home rig fired up and will get the rest up to speed on Monday, after I deal with the various crises that sprung up during my time away (well, the folks at work only called my 3 times, so all in all, that's not too bad).

I did have an interesting vacation to say the least. About 75-100 yards from our site, while we were there eating lunch (69-91 meters for our metric friends), there was a shooting. Apparantly, a 13 year old boy shot and killed his father, a retired police captain from Ohio, who was beating his wife, a currently serving police captain, when he was shot. Needless to say, it made for some high drama at the camp and was the talk of the town during the rest of our stay. Talk about an ugly situation. Details of the story can be found here.

Other than that, it was a blast, and plenty of  was consumed, along with copious amounts of rum. Nonetheless, it is good to be home.

I am sad to read that story. And probably all those involved will be terribly unhappy: the kid, the woman and all the relatives. That is really tragic.
I am sorry that this cast a sad shadow over your vacation :(

I am glad that you and your family are back safe.

Yeah, it was really tough trying to keep the information from our three kids ages 5-9. I think the 9 year old knew what was going on since she kept grabbing the paper and reading as much of it as she could. We simply told them there had been an accident, since we didn't want to spook them and ruin their trip. It seems to have worked, as all had a blast. It does make you stop and think, and appreciate what you have, that's for sure.
