I was checking it out today and it looks good but that back lighting issue is keeping me from buying one.

they eliminated the backlighting to extend battery life. you can easily pick up a small light that connects in the link cable slot. some of them even have a port on the other side so you don't lose the ability to multi play.

Don't hold your breath. And even if they do it will end up like the Nomad or Game Gear - need like 6 batteries and their life will be under 5 hours.

yeah from what I heard there aren't any real good accessories (ie, glowguard, wormlight etc) that are good enough to fix the prob I'll prob get one when Street fighter comes

I don't see why they couldn't just incorporate one into the design but have the option to run the GBA with it turned off when you don't need it. How is having a worm light plugged in any less draining than having one properly designed in?

BTW, are the screens worse then the GBCs?

Yes the lighthing on the GBA sucks major ass, with or without a wormlight. You'll need a few lamps to see well.
