I'm not getting wordwrap when composing message

Just installed Netscape 6.2, and responding to a forum post I am not getting wordwrap in my composition window. This forces me to put in hard returns so I can see my whole message while composing. The resulting post looks icky. What do I do to fix this? Thanks.

I've got the same problem when I use Netscape 6.2.2. Fortunately I use IE most of the time.

I do not get word wrap with 6.2 either. I like not having word wrap tho. I would rather *expletive deleted* than use IE 😛

Apparently, this is a "known issue" with the way any new Netscape or Mozilla browser handles text areas. I've looked around a bit, and there doesn't seem to be any way around it. If I'm wrong, and someone could clue me in, I would pay you large sums of money. Well, a small sum at least... honestly. Considering that I spent a large amount of my web time on forums, this makes Mozilla almost unusable for me.

The same is true for Mozilla. I tried modifing the source code but it didn't look like there was anything that could be changed that would fix it........

I used to have no problem when I was using Netscape 4.73, but I figured I'd join the 21st Century and get the new version. Too bad Fusetalk doesn't support it. I guess I'd still be using 4.73 but it doesn't seem to support XML, at least not fully, and I'm going to be doing some work with XML.

What do you mean doesnt support it? Mozilla 0.9.8 works fine for me, just no word wrap. Not a big deal.

I don't know. Not having wordwrap is kind of a bummer. I guess you can preview your message and that's a workaround. I'm using IE 6 right now, so I don't have that problem. I take it that Mozilla 0.9.8 is the engine behind Netscape 6, just a stripped down kind of version?

Netscape/Mozilla stuff in a nutshell:

Netscape is a pit where people throw their money to never see it again. Netscape decided they did not want to have as many developers to waste money on so they opened up the netscape 6.0 (or so) source code. Mozilla project was born out of that. The Mozilla developers inprove the browser and Netscape adds their crap (AOL IM and other "features") and their label and puts it on their site. Mozilla is basically Netscape 6.x without all the extra crud. 🙂
