I just set up Mandrake 7.2 on its own partition. I'm running Linux for the very first time in my life, all I've ever run was Windows, and for the last 6 months Windows 2000. Well I have @home cable internet and I want to know how do I set it up in Linux. I'm using a KDE desktop if that means anything. Can anyone tell me how I'm supposed enter things like my computer name, my IP address and what specifically to put in, because I'm completely clueless. Thanks.

look for Drakconfig or Linuxconfig and use that to configure your IP address (static or DHCP) subnet, DNS and gateway settings.

If I don't know my DNS or subnet settings, how do I figure out what they are? I'm using Windows 2000 and my cable modem here works fine...I wanna grap the info and use it to apply it to Mandrake. Thanks
