I'm completely new here. I came here because, well, I know nothing about computers. Nothing at all. And I'd like to learn. I have a brother who is fairly skilled in this area, though he wouldn't want to help me, probably because he can't tech for shit. But anyway, I came here to enlarge my knowlege on computers, what's the best for certain things, etc.

Thank you for any support I'm given while I'm here.

What he said. I used to only surf the Hardware and OS forums......and then I found the great world of ATOT. I haven't looked back since.

No one. This is my first time here.

I was sent here frtom another (private) board I'm on all the time. We only have 7000 users, and though most of them have a bit of computer knowledge, they all suck at helping me.

j/k welcome and as mobobuff said, GH and the other forums provide an excellent resource for computer-related learning. don't expect much from OT... 😉
 
I know off-topic won't give me much information, but posting about my being new to the boards anywhere else would get me modded.

One bigass tip: do some searching before you type out questions. Most things have probably been asked and anwered previously. 🙂

your first step is to do an about face and exit Off Topic.
avoid Politics and News. avoid Hot deals as it will render you bankrupt.
peruse the remaining forums and READ. Basic questions have been asked and answered so the SEARCH function will be your best friend.
