I'm looking to buy my new laptop for my 18th birthday and its mainly for school, and posibly for games. So i'v opt for mostly the Geforce 4 Go 440 32/64MB.

But money being an important issue, there are some other laptops avalible, which are slighly cheaper but howevre contain the Ati Mobile Radeon 7500. After reading some reviews, this chipset is not far behind the GF 4Go in performance.
This is the closest thing i've found in my new laptop.

This could be my new laptop but theres another important issue. I'm not very careful at times, and i have been known to crack a Laptop Screen OPPPS! But with DELL, they support 'Accident Cover for 3 years" and this is very good.

Now i am asking YOU. Do you know any good laptops with i can check out, which come similar to this Dell Laptop.
It must have

a)A Geforce 4 GO/Radeon 7500 32/64mb
b)Accident care insurance

Cheers for the help, if you can provide it.

Compaq Presario 2800. I own one and love it. :) Take a look over at compaq.com. You'll need to wade through the HP menus, but it'll redirect you to the old Compaq site when you start browsing through the Compaq laptops.

Dell.
Dell.

Dell

Oh, and stick with the GeForce 4 Go; remember, you can't upgrade a laptop like you can a PC, so saving a few bucks here will cost you down the road.

I would go with the Insperion 8200 with the 25ms response time special uxga screen. And the 64 Mb version of the vid card.

I would also recommend the Insprion 8200. I have one and I love it. It performs quite well.

Actually you can upgrade the video on the Inspiron 8200. Almost everything in it is upgradeable (CPU, video, HD, RAM, modem, CD/DVD drive, etc.). That's one of the reasons I bought it.

thanks for the thoughts dudes.

I am thinking of getting the dell now, but didn't know you can upgrade like that?

And to cut cost down, is there a staggering differance from the 32mb to the 64mb? because the differance is like £100 differance

i've checked out the compaqs and they don't offer any kind of insurance, these laptops are delicate thing you know.
