I truly love using the grill on my deck also, but be aware that there are carcinogens in the crunchy yummy burned bits. It is recommended that you grill in moderation. 🙁

The grill my brother and I built last year. Took us all summer and I thought spring would never get here to use it.

fuck charcoal for steaks.
I'm going to be an arrogant assuming prick and already guess my steaks blow yours away and I use charcoal 😛

i made the best, melt in your mouth, slightly smokey cheeseburgers last night on my weber smokey joe while i was down at the family pond. hell of a day.

So charcoal... Can I put a pile of charcoal on the ground, start it with lighter fluid and cook over it??

Does the charcoal container object (grill I guess) matter? Or is it just to look good?

oh, and yeah. i mean, if you want to smoke something or cook something for a long time (with any kind of heat source) then an enclosed container is a good idea. otherwise you can cook things over a wood/charcoal fire on the ground or in a small pit or whatever.

i prefer keeping a chimney starter and newspaper handy rather than lighter fluid. never fails, and you can throw the grate on top of that tube of fire to sear the bejesus out of things

I hate when people grill something and theres all this carbonized crap on it because they didn't clean it properly prior to use. Do you really think I want to eat something that has junk on it from something you grilled last month? Yuck.

it's called patina, adds to the flavor! 😛
