I have a extra HD laying around, and i have been thinking about buying a USB harddrive case Like This. so that i can use the drive to backup my system.
I am familar with Ghost, but is Does Not support external USB devices. 🙁

So basically i am looking for a program that does what ghost can do, but be able to use a USB HD as a destination for the images of my hds.

thanks

Why USB? It just adds an extra problem. I suggest a regular removeable IDE tray like these. They are cheaper too. If you use USB you have to figure out how to boot to DOS with USB support. This can be done but can be a real pain to figure out.

the problem is that i am using up all my IDE connections off of my motherboard already.
That why i was leaning towards a USB setup.

Ah, that makes sense. I just looked at the Ghost boot disk maker and it does have an option for USB support. Maybe it will work that easy. I've just had a lot of trouble trying to get odd setups to work with Ghost so now I try to keep it as simple as possible. Backus are not worth risk.
