I'm looking for a picture presentation program...

Well, I've got some pictures from my trip, and I need a program to present them, with music. I've got around 400 pictures, so using Powerpoint is out of the question (unless you guys know how I can add 400 pictures automatically...).
I also want the pictures to fade in and out when they change.

Assuming you're using windows? (you kinda have to mention these things...)

Besides the fading, is there something wrong with the Picture and Fax Viewer built-in slide show? You could just play your music in the background...

Yes, I'm using XP.

It's for a presentation...

I tried using Windows movie maker, but it makes pictures lose quality or something, and I can't find a way to change it.

You can customize each picture individually with it's own actions (fades, pans, transitions) or have the program do it for you all in one go. Free also.
