I'm looking for a new watch

I'm about to spend about $300 on a nice watch. Which brands are known for their high quality watches at that price range?

I had a $150 citizen watch for years. It finally failed. It made it about 10 years. It was abused though. I was even robbed for it and it was throw by the thief onto concrete as the cops chased him...

It failed a few months ago. I bought 2 $60 armitron watches to replace it.

They're ok. I had to return one of them after the first week because it was losing time. But they look nice.

What Papagayo said. I do like Tag Heuer too on the expensive end.

This thread pops up every 3 months or so, like clockwork (/badpun)

I've had a Citizen titanium eco-drive for over 2 years, and absolutely love it. Best watch I've ever owned.

Rolex...

Go to a department store and check 'em out. I'll be doing that in a few weeks. My watch turns 4 in a month or two, and it's still running on the original battery. Think it's time to retire it.

I have this Seiko, I paid $300 for it not even 2 years ago now and now it's only $179 on Amazon.

It's a great watch though IMO.

This is the second Seiko watch I've had fwiw.

This (swiss army) is the one I've had for a couple years- either the price went up recently or I bought it on sale- pretty sure it was under $400 when I picked it up. I've been happy with it- really really light weight (titanium band)

Fossil ftw. I have a fossil that is nowhere worth 300 dollars but it is very nice and they have higher priced models.

Do department stores even carry Rolex? If they do, you ain't gonna get any where close to a real one for $300. I think you missed a 0.

FWIW I had an old Tag that I hardly ever took off. I wore it snorkeling but broke the band when I forgot to take it off while playing football. The watch took a lot of beating and I only replaced the battery once in 10 years.

Not even Neiman Marcus sells them, much less for $300. I think you got hoodwinked.

I have a watch fetish. I wear a Seiko Coutura SNP017 which I recommend highly I got into Seiko about 1 year ago and I am very happy with them, I also wear a Tissot Titanium Ttouch which is on the higher side, but it was a gift from my wife as a wedding gift so I love it!. Those two are my favorites.
My wife has had a Tag Huer for about 6 years and it looks like new, she doesnt wear it unless we go out, the watch she wears to work is a Bulova Im not sure the #.. She is a Store Manager for office depot and to look at the watch it has held up well, especially since she works like a dog there.

Look here for good deals.

watches-hot deals

I've bought a lot of watches there before. It looks like they've raised prices about 65%. I've gotten great watches for $19.95 and $29.95 in the past.
