I was just forced to upgrade my PIAA driving lights to the new "superwhite" bulbs and now they don't match the regular headlights, so I'm looking for a source for superwhite headlight replacement bulbs. I'm looking for some place cheap online, but reputable.

TIA,

Sal

Does anyone have experience with the PIAA superwhites? I've been buying PIAA bulbs and lamps for years and it just seems like they sold out recently with this "superwhite" bulbs. They look like the cheap "blue" lights that gained popularity about 4-5 years ago that mimicked the HID lights. I don't know why they bother because they won't and never will be HID lights.

It just looks ricey to me. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

BTW.. Thanks for the link Frizzlefry, but the site is being updated. Hopefully, it's temporary.

Thanks again.

i've used a few different bulbs, but i have to say the piaa superwhites look pretty decent. they don't look so much like those cheap blue ones that people buy from auto stores for 9.99 a bulb.

I currently have a pair of PIAA Plasma's in my Maxima. I wasn't sure how long they would last, but over a year later still going strong (knock on wood).

I bought them here.

I don't think I'll buy them again though, I got a couple of nice E-code Phillips bulbs from across the pond for half as much.

I have PIAA Hyper-Whites (I think that's what they're called) and they're supposed to be PIAA's closest yet to HID light color. I like them a lot - very bright, and not cheesy light blue like the cheap HID knockoffs from Walmart are. (Ricers!) The light is a very crisp white and really makes regular car headlights look a dirty yellow color in comparison.

Oh yeah, I got mine from a local SVT shop for $65 - same as the cheapest price on eBay, but much safer (and faster).

This is for a TL1000R (sportbike).

Okay, I'm curious. I'd really like brighter headlights for my Altima as the stocker kinda suck. The ones listed at autobulbdepot.com have listings like this:

PIAA bulb-H4 60/55=135/125w Super Xtreme (pr.)p/b]

Is the second set of wattages the equivalent output for the pair or what?

Yes.........the first pair of wattages shown is the actual "output". The second pair of wattages shown is the equivalent output PIAA says the bulbs have.
