College Internet can suck. Back when I was dorming, the college constantly throttled wow. I asked them if I could install my own dsl line at the dorm(impossible). I even tried paying them extra money so they could prioritize wow for me(wouldn't accept 75 dollars/month).

You were willing to pay an extra $75/month so you could wow?

*facepalm*

Your parents are giving you far too much money.

75/month for just the bribe + 15/month for the game itself

$90/month for wow is ri-god-damned-diculous. You need help Hacp. There needs to be a clinic for kids like you.

download netmeter, it is small, and keeps track of daily, weekly, projected usage. Free and uses next to no resources. The best bandwidth monitor I have used.

Watching HD video on a site like Hulu works out to about 900MB per hour.

thanks for the link. Any way to get it to pick up wireless networks? won't read my wireless in Win7. Could be a 7 issue.

LOL a gig a week. combined download/upload I assume? forget streaming/gaming/anything multimedia. that's probably barely enough for actual academic use (if even that depending on your area of study!), and anything else is gonna blow through your quota.

What college is this? (so the rest of us know to avoid it)

Haha don't worry. I'm doing a term at the Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand.

That's the problem.

NZ/Aus internet = scam
