another quality member bites the dust

i saw a screenshot of the old fusetalk forum and it brang back memories. i looked at a five year old thread and miss so many of the quality people that are gone now.

those people were right that said this place has gone downhill since ~'05.

Power drill. I was screwing a board into the ceiling when I hit a knot and the drill bit jumped out, flew several inches over, and hit me right in the center of my thumb. It is perfect now and you wouldn't know there was ever an injury except the lunula no longer looks like a half moon.

$100K lets you accumulate enough wealth so that you could eventually afford to gain access to politicians if you wanted to. Below that, it is really really difficult to ever get to that point.

My other sticking point for many forum members: yes, chilli needs beans.

Yes, things were much more rapid paced before the forum split into dozens of small, rarely used forums. But, it is still pleasant here.

LOL.. that Glacier pic looks shopped.

They are all edited and processed. I just like to post memories minus things like pimples or a giant power line running through my head. But for the most part those particular photos are barely touched. The glacier day was pouring rain and a raindrop hit the center of the camera lens as the photo was being taken. But I'm not talented enough to fix an issue like that in GIMP. In reality the lake was greener/milkier, the glacier was bluer, and the ~10 separate waterfalls you see in the photo stood out far more.

I'm not leaving completely (few people can), as I'll check in now and then. I do think however, that I will be quickly fading to a rare post burst once or twice a month rather than a several days per week.
