I'm lame...stuck in HL2 again!

sadly this isn't my first stuck thread...


I'm in the building that was shooting that white laser from the roof...

I've taken out 2 of the 3 'generators'...

the third one is in a room that seals after I enter it, and there are a number of automatic guns that come to life when I move too far....

WTH am I supposed to do? I've found that I can jump over the equipment directly in front of me, and there is a spot there were none of the guns see me....but my ammo runs out after taking 2, maybe even three of the guns out....is there some trick?


Also, the cool heavy machine gun....the alternate fire is some soft of energy ball that bounces off of things....what is that?

I don't think they shoot lasers, they are machine-type guns.....but they swivel back and forth, and when they spot you, they start shooting...

can you post a screen shot? there is a room on that level that has lasers, you have to avoid them or you get shot up with machine guns. it's tricky but you can get thru them (if you need help in a specific spot just post a screen shot). otherwise the only other guns i can remember on that level are the ones in the floor. a grenade will take them out.

they aren't the ones in the floor.....they are mounted on the wall....and at the end of the room there are 2 of them right next to each other...

i remembe this part, cuase it was a pain in the butt...

you have to (VERY CAREFULLY) jump over the stuff around the room, and crouch underneath the laserbeams to make it to the other side
i could get some SSs up soon if need be...

I really don't see any laserbeams...unless I already triggered them and I need to start over at an earlier save....

possibly. because as soon as you trigger them the doors lock and the guns start to hunt you. is there a metal detector looking thing at the exit? it sounds like you need to back up a little.

this is the room where Barney says "I'll wait out here", and doesn't come in with you

yeha thats where everyone is talking about. You need to go to an earlier save point. There should be red lasers everywhere and u need to manuver around them.

Spoiler ----You have to go to the other side of the room, opposite the entrance, and get up on top of the bookcase to jump the infr-red beam to get to the control button.

I know where you are...

You CAN walk the through the room, avoiding the lasers, to a certain point. Then you carefully jump up onto those metal boxes, avoiding the laser, then jump onto a pipe that you can walk on and jump down next to the on/off switch for the entire room. Hit the button, the lasers turn off, and Barny & friends can join you.

That makes no sense... if you tripped the lasers, you're dead in an instant: there's no where in that room where you are are covered from all the machine guns: there's always at least one that has LOS on you whereever you are.

On the other side of that area (where you came from) there is a valve in all the pipes. Turn this valve and you'll see what happens. Oh, and you'll also need to shoot some stuff on that side to give you some way to get out of the water (hint, look RIGHT down the bottom)

man, you know how long it took me to stack up the barrels just right so I was able to get into that room..... what a waste of time....
oh well, rather it be a challenge than a cake walk.

I tried for about 2 hours to do that too, but never succeeded!
