Hi,

I used to swap out motherboards all the time in 98 and 2000 without reformatting but will I have problems during this evolution with Windows XP Pro?

I understand the CPU and RAM won't matter but will XP have a problem with a different motherboard?

Thanks,
Dorkboy

It might boot up just fine, and will install the necessary things on its own. If it doesn't, do a Repair INstall of Windows XP.

It's pot luck. There is no definite answer that it will work or not. But a fresh install is highly recommended.

I know, but I just did a reinstall and then went and bought all new parts.

I think if you boot from the Windows XP cd and choose repair, you'll be fine.

Both Gamer and Second should be using the HAL that your new mobo will support, so you should be ok.
