ha! I got a chuckle out of that one!

You know whats sad. $350 and AMD was giving out 2-3 free games and the Titan didn't come with anything when it first came out. $1000 and it didn't even qualify for the Free 2 Play bundle the GTX 690 and even geforce 650 was getting.

People act like PC gaming, or PCs in general are some mythical and unattainable hobby that only rich people can afford. There are many more expensive hobbies. Heck I have R/C Cars that cost more than your PC. My friend builds drag cars, another is into boats and fishing stuff and probably has more money invested in that than I do in the whole house lol. Everyone is entitled to their hobby. The problem I have with the world today is people that say "you don't need to spend that much" there is no need, it's want. We all want to be rich, have nice things, and be able to live comfortable. For some that includes expensive PC hardware.

Well said. A titan is less than the cost of a rim on my car...and I know a lot of people here would probably balk at something like that. "You don't need to spend that much on cars", "You don't need to spend that much on handbags", "You don't need to spend that much on x", everyone has different priorities and things they value more.

In the big picture, PCs are a pretty cheap hobby. I would never pay $1000 for a video card because gaming is not that important for me, but I certainly understand why someone else would.

Grats to OP, hope you're running some monster resolution.

Picked up (2) of them myself a couple weeks ago.... awesome GPU's!

I upgraded from (2) EVGA Geforce 680's mainly to get the 6GB's of VRAM, don't notice much framerate improvement on the titans (mainly because the the 680's were already insanely fast in SLI), but I do notice a reduction in vram stuttering in games hitting over 2GB's of RAM :)

Congrats op

I know exactly how you feel, 5-6 months ago I felt the same way when I bought my 2nd 7970 and felt now I can Max every game video setting. That feeling didn't last long when I upgraded to a 1440p Catleap and new games like crisis and suddenly I am once again adjusting settings down.

Peace

Those things will be top notch still in 4 years and its really no different than buying a top end $500 GPU once a year for the next 4 years. (Except you get the top end performance throughout the entire 4 years instead of having to wait)

OK, I got my 2nd card. In 3DMark11 I scored P18890 @ Stock speeds (which seems a little low) 3770k@4.4GHz.

Going to have to see how much o/c headroom I can get.

As a luxury product, its not directed at the market segment where 'value' is a consideration or where it would make a difference for buyers in choosing it over a competing card.

Now I have 2!!!(well I just ordered my 2nd)

Plus they threw in Metro Last Light for free. $1020 for a free game. How nice.:p

Now I need a third...Nah. I don't think I could do it. I'll probably wait for the prices to drop before I do that.
Congrats Wag. Tell us about the rest of your rig. What monitor are you using ?:)

I'm jealous, I don't have that kind of money to throw at video cards. I do hope the OP has a monitor setup that justifies the horsepower.
We are supposed to be enthusiasts here, so I for one celebrate his PC awesomeness!

enjoying the finer things in life. good for you.:thumbsup:

as soon as the surround frametime/fcat results for titan sli get published - will jump on the titan bandwagon. spending $2,000 demands reliable backing data.
