Just think, in 4 years you could SLI a pair of $150 cards and blow these Titans away in power consumption, noise, new DX 11.2 features, probably a slight performance advantage too![]()
You are optimistic given how the pace of CPU and GPU innovation has slowed.
More likely, 4 years from now you would have to SLI a pair of higher-end GeForce GPUs together to tie the speed of dual Titans. You'd save some wattage, but you would definitely be paying more than $150 each, more like $300 each for an upper-tier card (akin to the launch price of GTX 660 Ti). To actually "blow away" a pair of Titans (which I take to mean 1.5x speed or more), you would probably have to SLI higher-end GeForces that cost $400+ each.
Nobody is even fully using DX11.1 right now, and consoles will make sure that we don't go beyond DX11.1 in most games for a very, VERY long time.
But seriously, why can't you be HAPPY for others, come on guys....
Because some people disagree on the principle of $1000 video cards.
Looks like some people are determined to tell Nvidia and AMD this is ok.
It is ok if you have the money. Who the fuck are you to question whether its "ok" if someone else buys a video card for more money than you make in a week???
Damn...
Congrats, Wag. If I didn't have a newborn I'd be all over a Titan too!
Also there are many people on this forum who disagree with $1000 video cards.
Good thing you arent an audiophile.. otherwise your screams would reverberate across the universe.Because some people disagree on the principle of $1000 video cards.

Imho,
Indeed! And one has that choice to pass and not buy! Ultimately, the market decides if it is okay or not though!

Back in the day I'd spend $500+ on a video card or cards. Accounting for inflation a Titan or two is not that far out of line.
I've been a huge video card fan for years so it is neat to see someone carrying on the tradition.
So what are you going to do with such powerful cards? Have you thought about running Folding@home or BOINC on them?
Back in the day I'd spend $500+ on a video card or cards. Accounting for AMD's retarded introductory pricing of the 7000 series, and Nvidia's greediness that followed, a Titan or two is not that far out of line.
