I was born in Columbus, but moved when I was 5. Still go back a few times a year to visit relatives...

To repeat what others said:
Take the kids to COSI, Columbus Zoo, and the State Fair you won't be disappointed!

Make sure you hit a Donato's pizza. Mmmm... My mouth is watering now...

I wasn't half bad. I'd actually go back there for a day trip. Downtown was kind of like a "Mini New York", only without the homeless people and the urine smell :)

WONDERFUL! Inexpensive and great cuisine! As for things to do..not much, the Columbus zoo is nice..but very typical. Why do you think I moved to Cincinnati!!??

Take a cab to the Arena District and eat at the Gordon Biersch restaurant / brewery.

The only good mall to go to is Polaris Fashion Place, but it is way up on the North side of town. The other good one is Easton, but it is far East and it has been turning a little ghetto lately.
Tuttle Crossing mall is out West, and it is decent as well.

The Gateway district is nice, but most store will be closed by time you get there. They have tons of small restaurants and shops though.

Didn't have time, but I did make it to that fancy mall though. It was near closing and their Cin-o-Bon place was selling 1/2 dozen of their rolls for $5---WOW! Bought a cool toy at their Discovery store, then when back to the hotel and hit the hot tub for a bit. That was about it.
